The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) is directly tied to 2.4 million U.S. jobs and leads to $80 billion in sales for the nation’s economy. There is still an underlying threat of Internet piracy that causes lower box office and DVD/Blu-ray sales, and the MPAA wants to make sure it tells the public about it.
An older but less used argument against piracy is because of increased job losses in the American sound and video crews, editing, electronics, and other industries needed in Hollywood.

When it comes to storage the old motto "Bigger. Faster. Better. MORE!" is in full effect; or at least Seagate seems to think so as their FreeAgent GoFlex Desk just got a huge storage boost! Today, I am going to look at their all new THREE Terabyte version of their Desk version which not only boast customizability but an industry leading capacity. To me the questions I want answered are: is this down right awe inspiringly huge portable storage device as good (or better) as its little brother the GoFlex Portable; and does all that size come with any downsides? Let's find out!

With the 7H, SteelSeries has used a completely different design to the popular Siberia V2 headset meaning it provides a different experience which may appeal more to different people. There are commonalities between the two, though, including the 50mm driver units and pull-out microphone.

Netbooks are growing up right before our eyes. When they first surfaced, the screens were in the 7-inch range. They then grew to a norm of 10-inches and today the 12.1-inch netbook is fast becoming one of the most popular sizes on the market. These machines have more screen space and perhaps more importantly a larger keyboard than the 10-inch netbooks we typically see.
I am sure there are many people out there who have been waiting for a nice netbook to surface with Optimus tech and Ion graphics from NVIDIA. ASUS has put one of its shiny new Eee 1215N netbooks into our geeky little hands and it has all the goodies packed inside.

Corsair®, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC gaming hardware market, today announced the launch of their inaugural audio product, the Gaming Audio Series™ HS1 USB gaming headset. This noise-isolating headset offers long-term playing comfort and immersive multi-channel audio, with massive 50mm drivers and a carefully tuned acoustical design optimized not only for gaming, but for movies and music as well.

Overall, it was a pleasure having only one charger with me. It lightened my everyday load and made charging my devices more efficient than ever. At an MSRP price of $79.95 this power adapter beats the price points for the tremendously over priced OEM replacements and adds more functionality to it as well. For the price, I gave the adapter a rating of 8 because while it is well worth the price, there are other competing adapters in the $50 to $60 range.

The minor issues I encountered were with the inline control pod and the power connections. During use I found the digital volume control on the control pod to be slightly clunky. The power connections simply got in the way and I was limited by the distance between the SCU and the headphones, because both were run from the same power adapter. A better solution would have been to run the power through the multi-pin headphone connector, allowing for the use of the full length of the headphone cable.

Today we are going to look at one of Arctic's other gaming headsets, the P321, which is not quite as feature-filled as the P531 which we reviewed last week. So it carries a lower price tag which makes it more available to more budget-restricted users. We look forward to seeing how they compare with their bigger brother in our tests.

Though USB 3.0 is now becoming affordable to a average user, the amount of products that fully utilize its performance is small. There are already many USB 3.0 devices, but most of them are designed for single bay hard drives, especially in the 3.5' and 2.5' form factors, neither of which take advantage of the full performance of the USB 3.0 interface. Users can choose USB 3.0 compatible SSDs, which offer the full performance advantages of USB 3.0, but these SSDs are often expensive and lacking in storage capacity. Whether backing up files, or working on film editing through the USB 3.0 interface, the capacity and performance of the USB 3.0 device will determine which product users will choose.

While most external storage customers don't mind the fact their data is more vulnerable than if it was inside because of the added convenience / portability it offers; there is a group of people who want MORE protection than simply sticking the drive inside a case. For this group, ioSafe has many makes and models. One such model is the SoloPRO USB 3.0 model, which boasts not only tank like amour chassis, but water- AND fire-proof abilities! Lets see how good this tank really is!

The new ASUS netbook, namely the 12" 1215N model, is one of the most
powerful Eee PCs to have appeared thus far. First of all, ASUS has
installed Intel's Atom D525, the new dual-core hyperthreading-enabled
1.8 GHz CPU, first presented at this year's Computex fair. D525 is
actually the heir to the well-known D510 Atom CPU working at 1.66 GHz,
but now also contains both DDR2 and DDR3 memory support...
Although the final price of this model hasn't been revealed to us just
yet, we'll make an approximation; the model with 2 GB RAM (instead of 4
GB) and a 250 GB HDD (instead of 320 GB) costs 450€, which, with all the
other advantages that we've mentioned, gives a decent price/performance
ratio.

Coolermaster have recently been pushing into other fields of PC hardware production, peripherals being one of their most interesting. Today we're taking a look at the Storm Inferno mouse which offers a few macro-able buttons, some impressive scripting software and a high sensitivity sensor. Let's see how it stands up to our vigorous testing.

Thermaltake are a well known for producing some of the best PC cases on the market like the Level 10 we reviewed recently alongside ranges of CPU coolers and PSUs. But recently they have been broadening their producing range to incoporate different markets such as gaming peripherals with their Tt eSPORTS range.
Today we're going to look at the Tt eSPORTS Black gaming mouse and Dominator gaming surface. A few weeks back we looked at two eSPORTS Challenger keyboards from Thermaltake which achieved our worth buying award so we're eager to see how the gaming mouse and surface will compare.

Inside of the box we find a USB 3.0 cable, a USB power adapter, instruction manual, software, and the enclosure itself. The Gauntlet features a very nice black aluminum finish. It has a bit of a heft to it, but it really feels solid in the hand. I suspect it could take quite a beating and still protect the drive inside - well, more so with a solid state drive than a traditional spinning disk. The top of the enclosure displays the Gauntlet logo with the Patriot logo on the front.

The market has been flooded with a lot of 2.5-inch drives. There are so many different enclosures being released to fit all of our 2.5-inch drive needs for those older cases without the 2.5-inch hard drive mounting brackets for the more current solid state drives (SSD’s). The Icy Dock MB991IK-B offers a lot of features jammed packed into this little 3.5” front bay enclosure. So let’s put the Icy Dock MB991IK-B to the test and see how it handles all of our benchmarks.

Power is a fundamental problem when using our portable devices and often dictates how often that device is used. Talk time on your cell phone, or play time on a portable gaming console limit their effectiveness. While the battery life is designed to accommodate the majority of scenarios between charging you always find yourself holding back to conserve the battery life or running out of power when you might need it most.

Recently Logitech began refreshing their range of products and coming in at the top end of their family of mice is the G700 which we have on our test bench today. Insanely high DPI, check... large number of programmable buttons, check... on the fly profile switching, check... have Logitech created one of the best gaming mice of all time? Let's find out.

If you are a gamer, then chances are you enjoy the sounds and music of your favorite games. A good set of headphones is a great addition to any gamer's equipment, especially if you play in a common area such as a dorm room, living room, or just like to become fully immersed in the sounds. Additionally, if you play a game that uses voice chat, an attached microphone is essential for hassle-free communication with your friends or foes. Genius has provided Benchmark Reviews their USB Circumaural Headset, model HS-03U. This headset boasts features such as noise-cancellation, in-line volume control, and vibration. Stay tuned as Benchmark Reviews tests out these features, and many more on the Genius HS-03U Headset.

Today we will be putting the ARCTIC Sound S111 through the paces. These dice-shaped portable speakers are USB powered and can easily be powered with a laptop. All you need is a 3.5mm jack on your device and these speakers with work for you whether you have an MP3 player, DVD, computer, or even a cell-phone for that matter. The S111 can supposedly amplify the volume at a greater extent, while not sacrificing the balance of the bass or vocals. We will have to see how this claim stands up as we run it through our tests.

What happens when you get the networking experts from Linksys into the same room as the ease of use experts that produced the Flip UltraHD pocket camcorder? Well, it seems that this marriage has birthed its first offspring: the Valet line of routers from Cisco. Like with the Flip which is credited for making videos easy, the idea here is to provide wireless networking to people who may have otherwise been intimidated by the world of routers. In fact, the Cisco Valet Plus M20 that we’re reviewing today isn’t even called a router; it’s a wireless hotspot.

We took a look at ASUS' O!Play media player a couple of weeks ago, and now we're checking out WD's spin on things, with its TV Live Plus. In addition to the fact that it supports a multitude of media formats, it has a great design, dual USB ports, HDMI and Component connectivity, and in our testing, also offered great performance.

Portable music players, such as MP3, MP4, iPod, cell phones, and iPhone, make it easy for you to enjoy music on the go. But when you want to share music with a group of friends, or need to play the music to the public, you can find yourself with the problem that nobody hears the sound. With Choiix Boom Boom Speaker you now don’t have to worry about that anymore. The Boom Boom Speaker contains four integrated highly-sensitive speakers and an amplifier that provides impressive sound and volume. Just enjoy the music you like and share it with friends wherever and whenever the mood strikes you!
